Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

This is an annual event that has been organized by the parent committee for Troop 51. We are so appreciative that they are willing to let the crew join in this year.

It will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Provo Community Church (175 N University Ave) from 5 to 9 p.m. (NOTE: This is the same day as the Young Women Broadcast. We will make accommodations for our female Venturers if they will give us their best effort.)

TICKET SALES

The event is funded through ticket sales. The Venturers earn money from their ticket sales as follows:
50% of ticket sales and 80% of donations will be credited to their individual account with the Crew. The rest of the money goes to cover the cost of the dinner and overhead. If there is money left over, it will be distributed back to the youth and units. No youth will be given cash, only credits toward our summer trip, registration, or other crew activities.

Each participant will be given a sales packet.

There are rewards for the top sellers. There will also be a drawing for an 8GB iPod from the ticket stubs turned in. The Venturers needed to be responsible for removing and turning in the stubs on the tickets they sell.

Nobody is required to sell tickets, however, we are requiring everyone to serve dinner (unless excused in advanced). Youth that don't sell any tickets but do help serve will still be eligible for their share of the "excess" funds from the event. That amount will be determined by how much money we collect and how many kids show up to work at the dinner.

DINNER

Youth need to be there by 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. NO LATER!!

They should be in full uniform. We will need to discuss what that means for Venturers, but the youth officers are capable of figuring this out.

They will be doing all of the work at the dinner. The adults will be there mainly to supervise and help only when needed (except for dishing up the food). They will be split into groups and be rotated from the kitchen to the dining area, so that everyone gets an opportunity to help out everywhere.

This will be a restaurant style dinner. Guests will arrive, wait to be seated, then the Scouts will serve them and clean up afterward. Youth will get to eat dinner at 3:45 p.m. before everyone else. They need to be finished by 4:30 p.m. so we can get serving others.

SET UP AND CLEAN UP

The Boy Scouts will be setting up tables on Thursday, March 25, 2010.

Table cloths and such will be done Saturday, March 27 at 2 PM. The parents will start working on this, then boys can help as they show up.

All youth will need to help clean up after dinner on Saturday. No one will go home until it is all done.

If you have any other questions, please call Norman Thurston (801-375-3073) crew committee chairman.
